The 30 kW rating at 230 V AC-3e covers lower-voltage installations, while the 75 kW rating at 690 V AC-3e suits higher-voltage European or mining distribution. Built-in bidirectional peak-limiting coil technology keeps inrush power at 230 W DC, which simplifies the control transformer sizing in a panel. The contactor is rated for 8 million mechanical cycles, so it outlasts many smaller-frame contactors in high-cycle applications like conveyor transfer stations or packaging lines.
The motor power ratings span AC-3e, AC-3, and AC-4 duty classes. AC-3e is the energy-efficient motor standard (IEC 60947-4-1), covering modern IE3/IE4 motors with higher inrush. AC-4 covers plugging and inching — frequent reversing or jogging — where the contactor breaks full locked-rotor current. At 400 V AC-4, the rating drops to 55 kW, so if your application requires frequent reversing of a 55 kW motor, this contactor fits; for a 75 kW motor in AC-4, step up to the next frame. The rated breaking capacity is 1040 A at 440 V, and the rated making capacity is 1560 A at 440 V. These numbers govern the contactor's ability to close into and interrupt fault currents — important for coordination with upstream protection. Mounts to a plate (not DIN rail — the TeSys Giga frame uses bolted mounting). The 35 mm connection pitch and bar/busbar terminals (accepting up to 25 x 6 mm busbar or 185 mm² ring lugs) are sized for the 115 A continuous rating. Tightening torque on the power terminals is 18 N·m. The contactor carries 1 NO + 1 NC built-in auxiliary contact. For additional signalling or interlocking, add a side-mount auxiliary block from the TeSys Giga range. The IP2X front-face protection (with shrouds) meets IEC 60529 and VDE 0106 for finger-safe installation inside a locked enclosure.
