TeSys Giga 4-pole power contactor, 200–500 V coil
The LC1G2254LSEN is a 4-pole contactor from the TeSys Giga range, built for power-switching duty across AC-3, AC-3e, AC-1, and DC utilisation categories. The 4 NO main poles handle motor and resistive loads, while the built-in 1 NO + 1 NC auxiliary contact set covers feedback or interlocking without an add-on block. Coil voltage is 200...500 V AC 50/60 Hz or 200...500 V DC, with a built-in bidirectional peak-limiting circuit that cuts inrush and holds the coil within its operating window. The control circuit terminals accept push-in wiring from 0.2 to 2.5 mm², solid or flexible with ferrules.
Duty ratings and thermal dissipation
Rated for AC-3 and AC-3e switching at 225 A (the Ith reference for dissipation is 225 A in AC-3), the contactor dissipates 8 W per pole in that duty. In AC-1 resistive service at Ith 330 A, dissipation climbs to 20 W per pole — factor this into enclosure heat budgets. Mechanical durability is 8 million cycles, and the maximum operating rate is 600 cycles/hour in AC-3 or AC-3e, dropping to 300 cycles/hour in AC-1. The rated breaking capacity is 2050 A at 440 V, with a making capacity of 2720 A at 440 V — headroom for motor starting inrush. Associated fuse recommendations cover 250 A aM, 200 A aM, 400 A gG, and UL Type J at ≤600 V — match the fuse type to the branch circuit SCCR requirements.
Standards, safety, and mechanical robustness
Certified to EN/IEC 60947-4-1, EN/IEC 60947-5-1, UL 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1, JIS C8201-4-1, and UL 60335-1 / UL 60335-2-40 Annex JJ for appliance applications. Overvoltage category III, rated insulation voltage 1000 V. Safety reliability data per EN/ISO 13849-1: B10d = 400,000 cycles at nominal load, 3,000,000 cycles with mechanical load. Mechanical robustness: vibration 5–300 Hz at 2 gn (contactor open) or 4 gn (closed), shock 10 gn / 11 ms open and 15 gn / 11 ms closed. Front-face IP2X with shrouds per IEC 60529 and VDE 0106. Protective treatment TH for tropical environments.
