Integrator's note: what this contactor brings to the panel
The TeSys Giga LC1G5004LSEN is a 4-pole power contactor rated 700 A in AC-1 (resistive) and 500 A in AC-3 (motor) duty, with a control voltage range of 200–500 V AC or DC. That dual-voltage coil, combined with built-in bidirectional peak limiting, removes the need for an external MOV or RC snubber — one less component to fail and one less wiring point to check during commissioning. Mechanical durability is 8 million cycles, and the contactor stays closed under vibration up to 4 gn. For a concurrently maintainable installation, that means fewer unplanned swaps over the facility's life. Operating times are 40–70 ms closing and 15–50 ms opening — fast enough for most transfer schemes, but verify coordination if your logic demands sub-cycle break-before-make.
Mounting and wiring — panel integration checklist
Mounts on a plate (plate mounting specified). Overall footprint: 8.9 in deep (226 mm), 8.9 in high (225 mm), 7.3 in wide (185 mm). Connection pitch is 45 mm — verify spacing if replacing an existing contactor in a tight layout. Power circuit terminals accept bar (2 x 32×10 mm cross-section) or ring lugs up to 185 mm². Tightening torque 35 N·m (309.8 lbf·in). Strip to 8–10 mm; spring-cage retention eliminates screw torque verification. IP2X front face achieved with supplied shrouds — fit them before energizing. Auxiliary contacts: 1 NO + 1 NC integrated. Safety reliability B10d = 400,000 cycles at nominal load per EN/ISO 13849-1.
