Utilisation categories cover AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor starting), AC-3e (high-efficiency motor starting), AC-1 (resistive loads), plus DC-1/DC-3/DC-5 for DC switching. The AC-3 rating is the one that governs most motor applications — this contactor is sized for 800 A in AC-3 duty, so it handles a 400–500 kW motor at 400 V without derating. Power dissipation per pole sits at 70 W in AC-1 at 1050 A and 42 W in AC-3 at 800 A. Associated fuse ratings are 800 A aM or 1250 A gG — the aM curve protects against motor start surges while the gG curve covers general fault clearing. For UL installations, a Type L fuse at ≤600 V is listed. Mechanical durability is 5 million cycles, with maximum operating rates of 600 cycles/hour in AC-3 and 300 cycles/hour in AC-1. That suits high-speed material handling or conveyor applications where the contactor cycles frequently.
Mounting and connection
Plate-mounted only (no DIN-rail option on this frame). The power terminals accept busbars up to 52 x 20 mm or ring lugs for 185 mm² cable. Tightening torque is 58 N·m on the power connections — a torque wrench is expected. Dimensions: 11.2 in (284 mm) high, 11.06 in (281 mm) wide, 10.5 in (266 mm) deep. The 70 mm connection pitch between poles matches the TeSys Giga busbar system. IP2X protection on the front face with shrouds installed.
The protective treatment (TH) indicates the contactor is tropicalized for high-humidity environments — a detail worth noting if the panel sits in an unconditioned plant area.
