The Square D LC2D40AFE7 is a TeSys Deca reversing contactor that ships with its reversing power busbar already assembled. That factory integration cuts one of the most common field-wiring errors in reversing motor starters—the crossed-phase short—and trims panel build time by about the half-hour it takes to bus two contactors with a mechanical interlock kit. Rated for AC-1 resistive loads, AC-3 standard motor duty, and AC-3e high-efficiency motor applications, this 3-pole contactor covers most 40 A reversing needs without requiring a second part number for different load types. The front-face IP20 rating and V1 flame retardance per UL 94 mean it's suitable for open-panel mounting inside a common electrical enclosure, provided pollution degree 3 conditions are respected.
This contactor ships with its reversing power busbar preassembled. Verify that the date codes on both halves match.
Mechanical and environmental endurance
Rated for 4 Gn vibration (contacts open) and 15 Gn shock (contacts closed), this contactor holds its position under the mechanical stress common in conveyor drives and compressor skids. The climatic withstand complies with IACS category D, and the protective treatment is TH per IEC 60068-2-30—acceptable for humid, non-condensing environments in a ventilated panel. Dimensions: 120 mm deep, 119 mm wide, 122 mm tall. This fits within the standard TeSys Deca frame footprint, so a panel layout prepared for a non-reversing Deca contactor will accept this reversing unit with no extra DIN rail or drilling.
