The Schneider TeSys K LC2K1601U72 is a reversing contactor — two contactors mechanically interlocked and pre-wired with a reversing busbar so you can swap motor rotation without building the interlock yourself. It's rated AC-3 at 16 A up to 440 V, which is the standard motor-switching duty class: that 16 A figure is what governs motor starting and plugging, not the resistive AC-1 rating. The 1 NC auxiliary contact on board gives you a feedback signal for the PLC or a seal-in circuit.
It's IP20 rated, so it belongs inside an enclosure, not on the wet side of the panel. The preassembled reversing busbar saves you the wiring time and the risk of phasing error; you land the line and load leads and the interlock is already correct.
Mechanical robustness for the application
The contactor is rated for shock and vibration per IEC 60068-2-27 and IEC 60068-2-6. With the contacts closed it takes 10 Gn on the Y and Z axes, 15 Gn on X; open contacts handle 6 to 10 Gn depending on axis. Vibration resistance is 4 Gn closed, 2 Gn open across 5 to 300 Hz. That's enough for most industrial machinery and mobile equipment — you won't see nuisance dropout from a nearby press or a forklift hitting a bump.
