It is rated AC-3 ≤440 V 16 A, which means it is sized for switching three-phase induction motors up to roughly 7.5 kW at 400 V (the standard AC-3 duty cycle covers starting and stopping a running motor). The 230 V AC coil is the control voltage; the contactor pulls in cleanly at that nominal and holds through the typical sag on a lightly loaded control transformer.
Where it fits — panel and application context
The IP20 finger-safe terminals (per VDE 0106) mean it is suitable for enclosed control panels where the front face is not routinely touched live.
Duty and robustness
Rated for both AC-3 and AC-4 utilisation categories. AC-3 covers normal motor starting and stopping; AC-4 covers inching, plugging, and reversing duty — the harder thermal cycle. The contactor is mechanically robust: it withstands 10 Gn shocks on the Y and Z axes when closed (15 Gn on Y and Z when closed), and 4 Gn vibration at 5–300 Hz when closed, per IEC 60068-2-27 and IEC 60068-2-6. That makes it a solid fit for applications with moderate vibration, like compressor skids or conveyor drives.
