The 12 VDC coil keeps control-circuit wiring low-voltage, which simplifies panel layout when the PLC or relay outputs are DC-powered.
Dimensions are 2.2 in (57 mm) deep, 3.5 in (90 mm) wide, and 2.3 in (58 mm) tall — a compact footprint that fits standard DIN-rail or panel-mount layouts without crowding adjacent devices. IP20 finger-safe protection (VDE 0106) means it is suited for enclosed control panels where operators may reach inside; no special shrouding is needed for basic touch protection. Rated for operation from -13 to 122 °F (-25 to 50 °C) and storage from -58 to 176 °F (-50 to 80 °C), it covers most industrial environments without derating, including unheated warehouses. Flame retardance meets UL 94 V1 and NF F 16-101/102, so it passes the material-level fire-safety checks often required in rail and building-services panels.
Electrical and application notes
Rated operational voltage on the power circuit is 690 V AC 50/60 Hz, but the AC-3 motor-switching rating is specified at ≤440 V — the higher 690 V figure applies to AC-1 resistive or low-inrush loads, not motor starting. The contactor carries AC-4 (inching/plugging) and AC-3e (enhanced motor) utilisation categories alongside AC-3, so it is rated for the higher electrical wear of frequent reversals or jogging duty. Mechanical robustness is specified to 15 Gn shock on the Z axis when closed and 4 Gn vibration (5–300 Hz) — enough for most industrial machinery but worth checking if the panel is mounted on a high-vibration press or mobile equipment. Operating altitude is 2000 m without derating; above that, dielectric withstand and thermal dissipation both decrease, so factor in if the installation is at high elevation.
