The LP2K09015BDTQ is a reversing contactor from the TeSys K series, built for motor control in applications where direction reversal is needed — conveyors, hoists, pumps, and similar three-phase loads. It's a 3-pole unit rated 9 A in AC-3 (motor switching) at 440 V, with a 24 V DC coil. The mechanical interlock between the two contactors inside the assembly prevents both from closing simultaneously, which is the standard way to avoid phase-to-phase shorts on a reversing starter. Coil suppression is built in — a bidirectional peak-limiting diode — so you don't need to add an external snubber across the coil. That saves a component and a wiring step on the panel. The coil holds at 24 V DC nominal and drops out above 0.10 Uc (about 2.4 V); pick-up range is 0.8 to 1.15 Uc (19.2 to 27.6 V DC). Heat dissipation from the control circuit is 3 W, which matters when you're packing several contactors in a small enclosure — factor that into your thermal budget.
The AC-3e rating (9 A) is the one that governs motor switching — it's tested for making and breaking locked-rotor currents typical of squirrel-cage induction motors. The AC-1 rating (20 A at 122 °F) covers resistive loads like heaters. For motor sizing: this contactor handles up to 4 kW at 380–415 V AC, 4 kW at 440–500 V, and 4 kW at 660–690 V, all at 50/60 Hz. On 220–230 V it's good for 2.2 kW. Horsepower ratings under UL/CSA go up to 5 hp at 460–480 V and 575–600 V. The auxiliary contact is 1 NC — one normally-closed contact for feedback or interlock. If you need more auxiliaries, the TeSys K family accepts add-on contact blocks that clip onto the front. The power and control terminals accept screw clamp, spring clamp, or Faston connectors (0.25 in and 0.1 in), giving flexibility for different wiring practices. Environmental limits: operates from -13 to 122 °F (-25 to 50 °C), stores from -58 to 176 °F (-50 to 80 °C). Altitude derating starts above 2000 m. Shock resistance is 10 gn closed, 6 gn open; vibration resistance is 4 gn closed, 2 gn open over 5–300 Hz. That's enough for most industrial machinery but check if your application involves sustained high-G vibration.
The reversing contactor is a ready-assembled unit — two contactors with a mechanical interlock, pre-mounted on a common base. Dimensions: 3.5 in (90 mm) wide, 2.3 in (58 mm) tall, 2.2 in (57 mm) deep. The IP2X finger protection (VDE 0106) means it's safe for open-panel mounting but not for washdown environments — keep it inside an enclosure rated for the actual environment.
Certified to EN/IEC 60947-4-1, GB/T 14048.4, UL 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1, and JIS C8201-4-1. Fire resistance tested at 1562 °F (850 °C) per IEC 60695-2-1. Protective treatment follows IEC 60068. These are the standards that matter for a global panel — UL and CSA for North America, IEC for Europe and Asia.
