Overview
The LRD33696 is a Schneider TeSys Deca thermal overload relay, order code LRD33696, rated for 3-pole motor protection with a full-load current setting of 140 A and a Class 10 trip curve. It is a bimetallic device designed for direct mounting to the LC1D150 contactor or standalone plate/rail installation.
The LRD33696 uses a bimetallic strip that deflects under heat from the motor current, tripping the relay when the current exceeds the set threshold for a duration corresponding to Class 10. The tripping threshold is calibrated to 1.14 ± 0.06 times the set current Ir per IEC 60947-4-1. Reset is selectable between automatic and manual via the blue push-button on the front face. A red push-button serves as a manual stop for the connected contactor.
Applications
The TeSys Deca range is common in panel building for OEM machinery, HVAC systems, and water treatment plants where reliable thermal overload protection is required under IEC and UL standards.
Within the TeSys Deca family, the LRD33696 sits at the high-current end, covering the 140 A setting point that mates directly with the LC1D150 contactor. It is specified by panel builders and OEMs who need a single-source thermal overload with global certifications for export machinery.
The LRD33696 carries certifications including IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, ATEX, INERIS, and UKCA, and complies with California Proposition 65. It is listed to standards EN/IEC 60947-4-1, EN/IEC 60947-5-1, UL 60947-4-1, UL 60947-5-1, CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2 No 60947-5-1, GB/T 14048.4, GB/T 14048.5, and EN 50495. The warranty period is 18 months.
Mounting options include direct plate mounting or DIN-rail mounting via an adapter. The power circuit terminals use screw clamp connections requiring a torque of 79.7 lbf.in (9 N·m); the control circuit terminals require 15.05 lbf.in (1.7 N·m). The enclosure is rated IP2X (finger-safe) and the device itself is IP20 for in-cabinet use. The relay is 121.92 mm tall and accepts screw clamp terminals for both power and control wiring. The associated fuse rating for the signalling circuit is 4 A gG or 4 A BS type.
