What the LUCC12B Covers
The Schneider Electric LUCC12B advanced control unit from the TeSys Ultra range is built for single-phase motor protection with manual reset. It's rated for 2.2 kW at 400–440 V AC 50/60 Hz, drawing its control supply from a 24 V AC circuit. That manual reset—no auto-reclose—means the motor stays off after a trip until an operator clears the fault. Good for conveyors or pumps where an unexpected restart could be dangerous. The unit carries utilization category AC-41, AC-43, and AC-44, covering both resistive and motor loads through the contactor. Thermal overload Class 10 matches the heating curve of a standard single-phase induction motor.
Mounting & Panel Fit
It plugs in from the front face—no screw terminals to wrestle on the backplane. IP20 on the front and wired terminals, IP40 on the front face outside the connection zone. That's enough for a clean control cabinet; wrap the panel for anything splashy. The control circuit draws 70 mA RMS sealed with a LUB12 base, spiking to 140 mA during closing. Keep that in mind when sizing the 24 V AC supply for a multi-device string.
Protection Layers & Compliance
Beyond overload, the LUCC12B covers short-circuit, phase failure, phase imbalance, and earth fault. The magnetic trip threshold is fixed at 14.2 x Ir ±20%. Vibration resistance: 4 gn with power poles closed, 2 gn open. Shock resistance: 15 gn closed, 10 gn open. That's solid for machine-tool apps or conveyors with jarring starts. Compliance spans IEC 60947-6-2, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1 (with phase barrier). Fire resistance to 960 °C on live-support parts, 650 °C general. Full tested for EMC immunity—transients, radiated fields, voltage dips.
