What It Is and When to Source It
The LUCL12BL is a magnetic control unit from the TeSys Ultra family, designed for motor control and protection applications. It sits between the line-side short-circuit protection and the motor load, with the specific role of protecting variable-speed drives and soft-start/soft-stop units from line-side faults and phase-loss events. The control circuit voltage limits are 20…27 V for operation; dropout occurs at 14.5 V. Typical coil current consumption while closing ranges 130…220 mA depending on the control relay used (LUB12, LUB32, LUB38); sealed current is 60…80 mA.
Utilisation categories are AC-41, AC-43, and AC-44 for motor switching. Tripping threshold is 14.2 x Ir ±20%. Dimensions: 45 mm wide, 66 mm high, 60 mm deep. Plug-in mounting from the front face. The IP20 front panel rating (wired terminals) and IP40 other faces allow use in standard enclosures; conformally coated (TH treatment,) for humid environments. SELV separation between control and main circuits (400 V) ensures safe interfacing with 24 V DC PLC outputs.
Listed to EN 60947-6-2, IEC 60947-6-2, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1 with phase barrier. The phase barrier is included in the kit — no separate ordering needed. Fire resistance to 960 °C on live support parts. Vibration resistance: 4 gn (poles closed) and 2 gn (poles open) over 5–300 Hz. Shock resistance: 15 gn closed, 10 gn open. The device is immune to voltage dips of 70 % over 500 ms (IEC 61000-4-11) and microbreaks up to 3 ms.
