What this locking kit does on the MTZ1
The LV847522 is a locking kit that secures a MasterPact MTZ1 circuit breaker or switch disconnector in the OFF position using two Ronis keylocks operated by a single key. This is a mechanical interlock accessory — it physically prevents the breaker from being switched ON until both locks are released, which is the standard arrangement for lockout/tagout (LOTO) compliance on a panel disconnect. The kit includes the adaptation hardware to mount onto the MTZ1 chassis; the keylocks themselves are Ronis type, a common European profile for industrial safety lock systems.
Why two locks and one key matter for LOTO
Two locks with identical keys means two separate padlocks must be removed before the breaker can leave OFF. That supports multi-worker isolation — each worker applies their own lock, and the last lock removed is the one that allows re-energization. The single-key-per-lock design (1 key per lock, same key for both) keeps the key captive in the lock while the breaker is OFF, so the key cannot be removed until the breaker is locked. This is a standard safety interlock pattern for MCC buckets and main disconnects where multiple maintenance crews share a single isolation point.
What it fits — MTZ1 only, not MTZ2 or MTZ3
This kit is specific to the MasterPact MTZ1 frame. The MTZ1 is the smallest frame in the MasterPact MTZ family (up to 1600 A). The locking mechanism and adaptation plate are shaped to the MTZ1's front-panel cutout and handle geometry. It will not mount on MTZ2 or MTZ3 frames without modification — those frames use a different lock interface. If you are retrofitting an older MasterPact NW or NT breaker, this kit is not compatible; those frames use a different Ronis lock profile and a separate adapter part number.
Installation note — Ronis key profile matters
The keylocks are Ronis type, which is a specific keyway profile (not the same as Euro-profile or Abloy). If your facility already uses Ronis keyed locks on other disconnects, this kit can be ordered with the same key code to maintain a single-key-per-site policy. If you are starting fresh, the locks come keyed alike (both locks use the same key). The adaptation kit includes the mounting bracket and hardware; no drilling or cutting required on the MTZ1 escutcheon.
