MGN61700 is a 2-pole switch disconnector from the SW60-DC range, rated 50 A continuous at 1000 V DC and built to EN/IEC 60947-3 for isolation duty. It is designed specifically for photovoltaic inverter protection — the DC-side disconnect between the array and the inverter. The 1000 V DC insulation voltage (Ui) and 6 kV impulse withstand (Uimp) cover the open-circuit voltage of a typical 1000 V PV string, so the switch can safely break load current and provide visible isolation for panel access.
This part is marked obsolete by the manufacturer. If you are freezing a new design, the SW60-DC family is the qualitative peer; verify fit against your 1000 V DC, 50 A isolation requirement.
The 72 mm width (4 x 18 mm modules) and 77.4 mm depth fit a standard 200 mm deep enclosure with room for gland-plate clearance. 8 pitches at 9 mm spacing match the DIN-rail terminal-block layout. Pollution degree 2 — suitable for a clean, dry control cabinet; not rated for outdoor or washdown exposure.
Durability & Environment
Rated for 3000 electrical cycles and 20,000 mechanical cycles — the electrical endurance is the limiting factor in PV duty where DC arc extinction stresses the contacts. Storage range -40 to 85 °C, operating -25 to 70 °C. The voltage drop at rated current is 251 mV (5.02 mOhm, 12.54 W dissipation at 50 A) — expect some panel heat rise if the switch is fully loaded continuously.
