The MGP0403XE2 is a Schneider Electric PowerPacT 4 panel-mount circuit breaker with a MicroLogic 2.2 electronic trip unit, rated 40 A at 40 °C. It is a 3-pole device (3P) designed for distribution in 250 A or 400/630 A panelboards. The electronic trip unit provides LSoI protection functions — long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and earth-leakage (though earth-leakage protection is not fitted on this variant).
The utilisation category is Category A, so it is not intended for deliberate short-time delay coordination with downstream devices — selectivity is achieved through the adjustable short-time pickup (Isd) set between 1.5 and 10 times the long-time pickup (Ir).
Adjustments and fixed parameters
The long-time pickup (Ir) is adjustable from 18 to 40 A, letting you match the breaker to the actual load without changing the trip unit. The short-time pickup (Isd) is also adjustable, but the long-time delay (tr) and short-time delay (tsd) are fixed — you cannot extend the delay for better selectivity. The instantaneous pickup (Ii) is fixed at 600 A. The breaker mounts on a backplate (panel-mounted) and can be installed horizontally or vertically.
