The Schneider Electric MGP2004X is a PowerPacT 4 molded-case circuit breaker (MCCB) for distribution in panelboards rated up to 250 A or 400/630 A. It is a 4-pole (3P + N) unit with a TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit, fixed at 200 A at 40 °C, adjustable for overload protection from 140 to 200 A. The magnetic short-circuit protection is fixed per the LI trip curve. The toggle control type gives a clear on/off indication on the front face.
The MGP2004X is obsolete per the manufacturer. Supply is through the independent surplus and broker market, not the factory or authorized distributors. If your maintenance team needs to standardize on a current-production MCCB for new builds, the PowerPacT 4 series has active variants — but the MGP2004X itself is a last-time-buy candidate.
If your panel runs hotter, you must derate per the manufacturer's thermal curve — a common oversight when a panel is packed tight. The thermal adjustment range (140–200 A) lets you dial the overload pickup to match the downstream load without swapping the trip unit. Mounting is panel-mount (backplate) with a 4-module 35 mm footprint. It accepts horizontal or vertical orientation, which gives flexibility in a tight enclosure. No earth-leakage protection is built in; if you need RCD functionality, it must be added externally.
