Mechanical envelope and shaft interface
The MH31902P16F2200: The motor carries a 190 mm flange on an international standard flange mount with 14 mm mounting holes and a 180 mm centring collar seated 4 mm deep, so the panel cut and bolt circle match the standard IEC mounting footprint for this frame size. Shaft is 38 mm diameter, 80 mm long, with a parallel key 10 mm wide on the drive end; no second shaft end is provided, which simplifies the guarding envelope on the non-drive side of the machine. Body length runs 12.1 in (308 mm) end-to-end, which is the figure the layout designer needs when checking shaft-to-coupling alignment against the gearbox or ballscrew housing on the driven axis.
Torque and power envelope
Holding torque is 60 N.m and peak stall torque reaches 220 N.m across the 115 to 480 V three-phase range, which sets the short-cycle acceleration budget for high-inertia loads before the drive current-limits. Continuous stall torque is 48 N.m at 30.8 A and continuous power is 6260 W with natural convection cooling, so no external fan or ducted air is required and the panel thermal budget stays limited to the rotor losses dumped through the flange. Nominal torque is 29 N.m at 2000 rpm with the LXM52 or LXM62 drive at 400 V or 480 V three-phase, which is the working point that sizing calculations should anchor to rather than the peak figure. Maximum RMS current is 114 A and the stator draws 0.15 Ohm with 3.86 mH inductance, so the drive bus current and tuning loop have to be sized for the peak transient rather than the nominal continuous value.
Feedback, brake, and connection
Feedback is a single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder, which resolves absolute position within one turn and supports the commutation learn routine on power-up without needing a separate battery-backed module on the motor. An integral holding brake pulls in at 25 W, sized to hold the rotor at standstill rather than to stop a moving load — dynamic braking of the driven axis is still the drive's job through the regen resistor. The electrical connection uses rotatable right-angled connectors, which lets the panel wireman orient the cable exit after the motor is bolted down instead of forcing a fixed orientation at order entry.
Environment, protection, and sizing notes
Ingress protection is IP65 at the standard rating, so the motor tolerates hose-directed washdown and dust exposure typical of food, beverage, and packaging lines; for harsher chemical or high-pressure cleaning the next step up in the series would be needed. Maximum radial force on the shaft is 3200 N at 1000 rpm stepping down to 2950 N at 4000 rpm, which is the figure the belt or gearbox preload calculation has to respect to avoid bearing damage.
