Motor sizing and supply-voltage split
The SH30401P17F2100 delivers 0.176 N.m nominal torque on single-phase 115 V or 230 V supply, and 0.184 N.m on three-phase 400 V or 480 V — the torque constant is 0.19 N.m/A at 120 °C copper hot. Nominal speed jumps from 4000 rpm on single-phase to 9000 rpm on three-phase, so the BOM must match the drive voltage to the line supply before committing the kit. Continuous power is 170 W, with nominal output power rated 77 W on single-phase and 166 W on three-phase. Peak stall torque reaches 0.75 N.m at 480 V three-phase, giving a short-term overload margin for acceleration peaks.
Encoder and brake — what ships in the carton
The motor carries an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder — no homing routine after a power cycle, which saves commissioning time on multi-axis lines. Holding brake torque is 0.4 N.m, enough to hold a light vertical load on power-off without a separate brake resistor.
IP65 and flange dimensions
IP65 rating on both the motor body and shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5 — the unit withstands washdown in food, beverage, or packaging environments. Cooling is natural convection; no external fan or air supply needed. The 40 mm international standard flange has four mounting holes at 4.5 mm diameter, a centring collar 30 mm diameter by 2.5 mm deep, and an 8 mm shaft with a 25 mm parallel keyed length (key width 3 mm). Overall motor length is 99.4 mm.
