290 W servo with holding brake — speed profile across supply voltages
The SH30402P07F2100 is a 290 W continuous-power servo motor with an integrated holding brake, part of Schneider Electric's SH3 family. Its nominal speed depends on the supply: 4000 rpm on single-phase 115 V or 230 V, and 9000 rpm on three-phase 400 V or 480 V. That means the same motor can serve a low-speed indexing station on single-phase or a high-speed pick-and-place cell on three-phase — the winding is tapped for both. Nominal torque also shifts with voltage: 0.292 N.m on single-phase, 0.31 N.m on three-phase. The peak stall torque reaches 1.5 N.m at 480 V three-phase, which gives the integrator headroom for short-duration acceleration spikes without oversizing the frame.
Absolute multiturn encoder and holding brake — position hold without drift
The encoder is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface type — it retains position through power cycles, so the controller does not need a homing routine after a restart. Speed feedback resolution is 16 periods per revolution, which gives fine velocity ripple control for contouring moves.
IP65, natural convection, rotatable connector — cabinet-free mounting
The motor body and shaft bushing are both rated IP65 per IEC 60034-5, so it can be mounted directly on a machine frame in a washdown area without an enclosure. Cooling is natural convection — no fan, no filter to clean. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector, which simplifies cable routing in tight spaces. Shaft diameter is 8 mm, shaft length 25 mm, with a smooth shaft end. The flange is a 40 mm international standard flange with a 30 mm centring collar and 2.5 mm depth. Four mounting holes at 4.5 mm diameter — standard pattern for this frame size.
