55 mm flange servo with integrated brake
The SH30551P1AF4000: An integrated holding brake is fitted: 0.8 N.m holding torque with 10 W pull-in power, so the shaft stays put on de-energisation — the load is held for vertical-axis and tool-change applications without an external fail-safe.
Encoder feedback on a single-cable quicklock
Feedback is an absolute single-turn Hiperface DSL encoder on a rotatable right-angled quicklock connector — DSL carries power and data on a single cable back to the drive, which removes the encoder battery / battery-box wiring on a conventional multi-turn. Three motor poles, natural-convection cooling (no integrated fan), and a parallel-key 9 mm shaft with 3 mm key width and 20 mm length — sized for a standard coupling or pinion in a packaging, indexing or pick-and-place drive train.
Torque and speed envelope
Continuous output reaches 290 W at 400 V three-phase or 480 V three-phase (160 W at 230 V single-phase); nominal torque is 0.35 N.m on the 400 V and 480 V supplies and 0.5 N.m on 230 V single-phase, while nominal speed climbs from 4000 rpm on 230 V single-phase to 8000 rpm at 400 V and 9000 rpm at 480 V — the higher the supply, the flatter the torque curve across the working speed window. Peak stall torque is 1.5 N.m across the 115 V to 480 V three-phase window and continuous stall torque 0.42 N.m, with continuous stall current 0.73 A and maximum Irms / 3-second peak current both at 2.9 A — the peak-to-continuous ratio gives roughly 3.5× headroom for acceleration and E-stop events without tripping the drive on Irms. Torque constant 0.58 N.m/A at 120 °C and back-EMF constant 40 V/krpm at 20 °C — with stator resistance 41.8 Ohm and stator inductance 37.13 mH, the motor presents a moderately high-impedance winding that the drive's current loop regulates at modest kHz rates.
Inertia, shaft load and thermal envelope
Maximum radial shaft load is 340 N at 1000 rpm and maximum axial load 40 N — enough for a pinion or small belt drive at the rated speed, but the radial rating drops as rpm climbs and the gear/pulley geometry must respect that envelope. Temperature class is copper-hot 130 °C, matching standard servo winding insulation.
Sealing and panel-side fit
IP65 on the motor body and IP54 on the shaft bushing without the shaft seal ring (per IEC 60034-5) — the body withstands washdown and dust ingress, while the shaft side is the rated weak point and a seal ring should be fitted where the application exposes the shaft to fluid.
