Speed and torque across supply voltages
The SH30553P12A1000: This motor delivers rated torque that depends on the supply: 10.0 lbf·in (1.13 N·m) at 115 V single-phase, 9.7 lbf·in (1.1 N·m) at 230 V single-phase, and 7.17 lbf·in (0.81 N·m) at both 400 V and 480 V three-phase. Nominal speed shifts with voltage — 2000 rpm on 115 V single-phase, 4000 rpm on 230 V single-phase, and 8000 rpm on either three-phase supply. Peak stall torque hits 31.0 lbf·in (3.5 N·m) across the 115–480 V three-phase range, giving headroom for acceleration and load transients. Continuous stall torque is 9.29 lbf·in (1.05 N·m) over the same voltage band, with a continuous stall current of 1.7 A.
Encoder and feedback — absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface
The encoder is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface type — no homing cycle needed after a power loss, which matters on multi-axis lines where position must be retained through a cycle. The straight connector on the motor body mates with the feedback cable; the IP rating at the bushing depends on whether the shaft seal ring is fitted (IP54 without, IP65 with).
Mounting and thermal profile
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 55 mm flange size and a 40 mm centring collar. Mounting holes are 5.5 mm diameter on a 2.2 in (55 mm) bolt circle — standard for this frame class. The shaft is 9 mm diameter with a parallel key, 20 mm shaft length, and a 3 mm key width. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan or forced air required, but the motor must be mounted with free air circulation around the housing. The copper winding hot-spot temperature is rated to 266 °F (130 °C), and the torque constant is specified at 248 °F (120 °C) winding temperature, so the thermal model assumes a hot motor under load.
Sourcing and lifecycle — active production, no brake variant
Note that this variant ships without a holding brake (: Without). If the application requires a brake for vertical-axis holding or emergency stop, the equivalent SH3 motor with brake is a different order code — confirm the BOM position before committing. The motor is a three-phase design with a straight electrical connector.
