Motor ratings that shift with supply voltage
The SH30702M02A1000: This SH3 frame servo motor delivers 640 W continuous power, but the nominal speed and torque depend on what voltage you feed it. At 400 V three-phase it spins 3000 rpm with 2.03 N.m nominal torque; at 480 V three-phase it reaches 3600 rpm at the same torque. On single-phase 115 V the speed drops to 750 rpm and torque rises to 2.2 N.m — the winding is designed for multi-voltage operation, so the drive selection must match the supply and the load profile. Peak stall torque is 7.6 N.m across the 115...480 V three-phase range — that is the short-term overload for acceleration or overcoming stiction. Continuous stall torque sits at 2.04 N.m, which is the thermal limit for holding position without a brake. The motor ships without a holding brake, so if the application needs position hold at power-off, an external brake or a brake-equipped variant is required.
Encoder and feedback — absolute position without homing
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder tracks position through multiple shaft revolutions, so the drive knows the rotor angle at power-up without a homing sequence. This saves cycle time on machines that power-cycle between batches. The Hiperface protocol is common across Schneider and third-party servo drives — confirm the drive's encoder interface supports SinCos Hiperface before wiring. Electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector or a straight connector — the rotatable version lets the cable exit in any orientation around the motor housing, which helps in tight cable-tray layouts. The IP rating is IP54 at the shaft bushing without the shaft seal ring, and IP65 on the motor body and with the shaft bushing seal ring fitted. For washdown or dusty environments, specify the seal ring.
Mounting and mechanical interface
The motor flange is 70 mm (2.8 in) with a 60 mm centring collar and 5.5 mm mounting holes on the international standard flange pattern. Shaft diameter is 11 mm with a 23 mm shaft length and a 4 mm keyway. The shaft end is smooth — no threaded hole or pilot extension. Overall length is 187 mm (7.4 in). Maximum radial force Fr is 710 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 390 N at 6000 rpm. Maximum axial force Fa is 80 N. These limits govern the coupling selection — a belt drive or overhung load must stay within the Fr curve at the operating speed to avoid bearing damage.
