Speed-torque envelope depends on supply voltage
The SH30702M02F1000 is a three-phase servo motor that also accepts single-phase 115 V and 230 V input, but the output changes significantly with the supply. At 115 V single phase, nominal speed is 750 rpm with 2.2 N.m torque; at 230 V single phase it reaches 1500 rpm at 2.15 N.m; on 400 V three phase it runs 3000 rpm at 2.03 N.m; and on 480 V three phase it hits 3600 rpm at 2.03 N.m. The nominal output power varies from 340 W (230 V single phase) to 780 W (480 V three phase), with continuous power rated at 640 W. The phase and voltage you feed it directly set the available speed and torque — this is the first parameter to lock in for the application.
Encoder and brake — cycle-time and position-hold
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder retains position through power cycles — no homing sequence needed after a power loss, which matters for applications like gantries or rotary tables that must resume mid-cycle. The integrated holding brake delivers 3 N.m holding torque, enough to hold a vertical load or keep the shaft stationary when the drive is off. The brake engages automatically on power removal, so the cell doesn't drift during an E-stop or power-down.
Torque headroom and thermal limits
Continuous stall torque is 2.04 N.m at 1.5 A continuous stall current, while peak stall torque reaches 7.6 N.m — a 3.7× ratio that gives real acceleration headroom for short overloads. The torque constant is 1.36 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the stator resistance is 16.4 Ohm with 115.7 mH inductance. Maximum continuous current is 6 A RMS. Cooling is natural convection, so the thermal budget depends on the duty cycle and the mounting flange's ability to sink heat — a high-duty-cycle application on a small bracket may need derating.
Mechanical fit and shaft interface
The motor flange is 70 mm (2.8 in) with a 60 mm centring collar and 2.5 mm collar depth. The shaft is 11 mm diameter, 23 mm long, smooth (no keyway). Mounting holes are 5.5 mm diameter on the flange. The sizing reference is SH30702M. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector or a straight connector — the rotatable option helps route the cable in tight panels without bending the connector body. IP protection is IP54 at the shaft bushing without a seal ring, IP65 on the motor body and with the shaft seal ring fitted — specify the seal if the motor sees washdown or coolant spray.
Radial and axial load limits
Maximum radial force Fr is speed-dependent: 710 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 390 N at 6000 rpm. Maximum axial force Fa is 80 N. The bearing load limit shrinks as speed increases, so a belt-drive or overhung-load application must check the Fr curve at the operating speed. Maximum mechanical speed is 8000 rpm, but the radial load capacity at that speed is below the 390 N at 6000 rpm — direct coupling is preferred for high-speed runs.
