Speed-torque envelope and voltage dependency
The SH30702M11F2200: The nominal speed of this SH3 frame servo varies with the supply voltage: 750 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. The nominal torque also shifts with voltage — 19.5 lbf·in (2.2 N·m) at 115 V single-phase down to 17.97 lbf·in (2.03 N·m) at 400/480 V three-phase — so the drive parameterisation must match the actual line voltage to avoid torque margin error. Peak stall torque is 67.3 lbf·in (7.6 N·m) across the 115–480 V three-phase range, giving a 3.7× overload capability above the nominal torque at 400 V. The continuous stall torque is 18.06 lbf·in (2.04 N·m) at 1.5 A continuous stall current, which sets the thermal limit for holding applications.
Encoder and feedback — absolute single-turn Hiperface
The motor ships with an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder. This is a single-turn device — it reports position within one revolution at power-up without a homing move, but loses multi-turn count across power cycles. For applications requiring absolute multi-turn position, a battery-backed or multi-turn encoder variant is needed. The back EMF constant is 95.9 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C), and the torque constant is 1.36 N·m/A at 248 °F (120 °C) copper hot. These values are needed to set the velocity loop gain and current loop limits in the drive commissioning software.
Mechanical interface and environmental sealing
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 70 mm flange size and a 60 mm centring collar. The shaft is 11 mm diameter with a parallel key, 23 mm shaft length, and 4 mm key width. Mounting holes are 5.5 mm diameter on the flange face. IP protection is rated IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, and IP67 on the housing per IEC 60034-5. The straight connector and rotatable right-angled connector options allow cable exit routing for tight enclosure layouts. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan, so the thermal budget depends on the mounting surface and ambient airflow.
Sourcing and lifecycle — active production
The sizing reference is SH30702M, and the device short name is SH3. The motor is part of Schneider Electric's SH3 family of servo motors with holding brake, intended for precision motion control in packaging, material handling, and machine tool axes where a fail-safe brake is required to hold the load at power-off.
