Speed and torque across supply voltages
The SH30703M02A1000: This SH3 servo motor delivers nominal speeds that depend on the supply: 750 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. Nominal torque also shifts with voltage — 26.99 lbf·in (3.05 N·m) at 115 V single-phase, 26.11 lbf·in (2.95 N·m) at 230 V single-phase, and 23.28 lbf·in (2.63 N·m) at both 400 V and 480 V three-phase. That means the same motor frame covers a wide range of line conditions, but the torque available drops slightly as voltage rises. Continuous power output follows the same pattern: 240 W at 115 V single-phase, 460 W at 230 V single-phase, 880 W at 400 V three-phase, and 1030 W at 480 V three-phase. The 830 W continuous power figure is the rating at the nominal three-phase operating point.
Encoder and feedback — absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface
The encoder is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface type — this gives position feedback on power-up without a homing cycle, which is useful for applications that need to resume from a known position after a power loss or emergency stop. The SinCos analog track provides high-resolution velocity feedback for smooth low-speed control.
Mechanical fit — flange, shaft, and mounting
The motor flange size is 2.8 in (70 mm) with an international standard flange pattern — mounting holes are 0.2 in (5.5 mm) diameter on a centring collar of 2.4 in (60 mm) diameter and 0.10 in (2.5 mm) depth. The shaft is smooth (no keyway), 0.6 in (14 mm) diameter, 1.2 in (30 mm) long, with a key width of 0.2 in (5 mm). Overall length is 8.7 in (220 mm).
Thermal and environmental limits
Cooling is by natural convection — no fan, so the motor relies on its surface area and the surrounding airflow. The IP rating is IP54 at the shaft bushing without a shaft seal ring, and IP65 for the motor body and shaft bushing when the seal ring is fitted (per IEC 60034-5). That means it handles dust and splash in most industrial enclosures, but not high-pressure washdown unless the seal ring is installed. The copper winding temperature is rated to 266 °F (130 °C) — the torque constant is specified at 248 °F (120 °C), and the back EMF constant at 68 °F (20 °C). Maximum radial force on the shaft varies with speed: 730 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 400 N at 6000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 80 N.
Electrical parameters and current limits
Stator resistance is 10.7 Ω, stator inductance is 27.65 mH. The torque constant is 1.4 N·m/A at 248 °F (120 °C), and the back EMF constant is 95 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C). Continuous stall current is 2.1 A; maximum current (Irms) is 8.7 A, which also matches the 3-second peak current rating. Peak stall torque is 100.01 lbf·in (11.3 N·m) across the 115–480 V three-phase range, while continuous stall torque is 26.02 lbf·in (2.94 N·m) over the same voltage range.
