Motor frame and mounting — 70 mm flange, IP65 sealed
The SH30703M02F2100 uses the SH3 frame with a 70 mm flange (2.8 in) and a 60 mm centring collar, mounting on an international standard flange pattern. The 0.2 in (5.5 mm) mounting holes and 2.5 mm centring collar depth are standard for this size class — the bolt pattern matches the common 70 mm servo interface. IP65 protection on both the motor body and the shaft bushing (per IEC 60034-5) means this motor handles washdown and dust without an external cover. The straight connector and rotatable right-angled connector options give some flexibility in cable exit direction for tight panel layouts.
Speed-torque envelope — voltage-dependent performance
Nominal speed depends on the supply: 750 rpm at 115 V single phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three phase. The maximum mechanical speed is 8000 rpm, so the motor can overspeed the nominal rating if the drive and load allow it. Nominal torque also shifts with voltage: 3.05 N·m at 115 V single phase, 2.95 N·m at 230 V single phase, and 2.63 N·m at both 400 V and 480 V three phase. Continuous stall torque is 2.94 N·m across the 115–480 V three-phase range — the holding brake adds 3 N·m of holding torque, enough to keep the load stationary when power is off. Peak stall torque reaches 11.3 N·m (100 lbf·in) across the 115–480 V three-phase range, giving a 3.8× overload margin over continuous stall torque for acceleration and deceleration transients.
Encoder and feedback — absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback without a home cycle after power loss — the multiturn count tracks absolute shaft position over multiple revolutions. The back EMF constant is 95 V/krpm at 20 °C, and the torque constant is 1.4 N·m/A at 120 °C copper temperature. These values let the drive calculate the motor's electrical position and torque estimate from the current feedback alone, without an external tachometer.
Thermal and electrical limits — natural convection, 830 W continuous
Cooling is by natural convection only — no external fan or forced air. The continuous power rating of 830 W and continuous stall current of 2.1 A are the thermal limits under natural convection at the 130 °C copper hot-spot temperature. The stator resistance is 10.7 Ω and inductance is 76.85 mH, which sets the electrical time constant at about 7.2 ms.
Shaft and load interface — smooth shaft, radial/axial force limits
The shaft is smooth (no keyway), 14 mm diameter, 30 mm shaft length, with a 5 mm key width. Maximum radial force Fr depends on speed: 730 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 400 N at 6000 rpm. Maximum axial force Fa is 80 N. These limits govern coupling selection — a belt drive or direct coupling must stay within the radial force curve at the operating speed.
