Supply voltage and speed — the torque curve changes with your line voltage
The SH30703M11A2000: This SH3 servo motor from Schneider Electric is a three-phase design rated for 830 W continuous power. The nominal speed depends entirely on what voltage you feed it: 750 rpm at 115 V single phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three phase, or 3600 rpm at 480 V three phase. That means a buyer on a 480 V line gets four times the speed of a 115 V line from the same motor — the torque available also shifts per voltage. The nominal torque at 400 V three phase is 2.63 N·m (23.28 lbf·in), and at 480 V three phase it holds the same 2.63 N·m. Peak stall torque reaches 11.3 N·m across the 115–480 V three-phase range, so the motor has headroom for acceleration and overload events.
Encoder feedback — absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface
The encoder is an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface type. This means the drive knows the rotor position at power-up without a homing sequence — critical for applications where the machine must resume position immediately after a power cycle. The SinCos analog track also gives fine interpolation for velocity ripple control. The electrical connection uses a straight connector with a rotatable right-angled connector option, giving flexibility in cable routing inside a cabinet or on a moving axis.
IP rating and cooling — washdown-ready with a shaft-seal caveat
The shaft bushing without a shaft seal ring is only IP54, so the shaft exit point is the weak link: if the application sees direct spray on the shaft, specify the shaft seal ring variant. Cooling is natural convection — no fan, so the motor relies on its own surface area and the machine's airflow. The continuous stall current is 2.1 A, and the maximum continuous current (Irms) is 8.7 A.
Mechanical interface — flange, shaft, and bearing loads
The motor flange size is 70 mm (2.8 in) with an international standard flange and a centring collar of 60 mm diameter and 2.5 mm depth. The shaft is 14 mm diameter with a parallel key, key width 5 mm, shaft length 30 mm. Maximum radial force Fr is 730 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 400 N at 6000 rpm. Maximum axial force Fa is 80 N. These set the bearing life limit when coupling to a load — a belt drive or overhung pulley must stay within these curves.
The sizing reference is SH30703M, and the device short name is SH3. The motor is supplied without a holding brake — if your application requires a brake, this is the wrong variant.
