Motor frame and mounting — 100 mm flange, no brake
The SH31001M11A1100: This SH3 series servo motor uses an international standard flange with a 3.9 in (100 mm) flange size and a 0.7 in (19 mm) shaft diameter with a parallel key. The overall length is 6.6 in (168.5 mm), and the centring collar sits at 3.7 in (95 mm) with a 0.1 in (3.5 mm) depth. No holding brake is fitted, so the load must be held externally if the application demands it. Cooling is by natural convection only — no fan or forced airflow. The IP65 rating on both the motor body and the shaft bushing (per IEC 60034-5) means it handles washdown environments, but the lack of active cooling limits duty cycles at the upper torque band.
Torque and speed across supply voltages
Nominal speed jumps with the supply: 625 rpm on 115 V single-phase, 1250 rpm on 230 V single-phase, 2500 rpm on 400 V three-phase, and 3000 rpm on 480 V three-phase. The maximum mechanical speed is 6000 rpm, so the motor can overspeed the nominal range if the drive allows it. Nominal torque holds fairly flat across voltages — 2.8 N·m at 115 V single-phase, 2.71 N·m at 230 V single-phase, and 2.52 N·m at both 400 V and 480 V three-phase. Peak stall torque is 9.6 N·m across the three-phase range, and continuous stall torque sits at 2.94 N·m. The torque constant is 1.63 N·m/A at 120 °C copper temperature. Continuous power is 660 W, but nominal output power varies: 210 W on 115 V single-phase, 410 W on 230 V single-phase, 790 W on 400 V three-phase, and 930 W on 480 V three-phase. That means the motor delivers more usable shaft power on a three-phase supply — spec the drive accordingly.
Encoder and electrical connections
The encoder is an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface type — it gives position feedback on power-up without a homing sequence, but only for one mechanical revolution. If the application needs multi-turn absolute position, this encoder won't cover it. Electrical connection is via a straight connector. Stator resistance is 13.9 Ω, stator inductance is 99.15 mH, and the maximum RMS current is 6.3 A. The continuous stall current is 1.8 A. The back EMF constant is 115 V/krpm at 20 °C.
