Speed and torque across the voltage range
The SH31001M11F1200 delivers 2500 rpm nominal speed on 400 V three-phase supply, and 3000 rpm on 480 V three-phase. On single-phase 115 V it runs 625 rpm; on 230 V single-phase it reaches 1250 rpm. Nominal torque holds near 2.5 Nm across all supply voltages — 2.8 Nm at 115 V single-phase, 2.52 Nm at 400 V and 480 V three-phase. That means the torque curve is essentially flat; the speed is what shifts with the line voltage. Peak stall torque is 9.6 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and the holding brake delivers 9 Nm — enough to lock a vertical axis load without power. The continuous stall torque sits at 2.94 Nm, so the brake holds about three times the continuous torque capacity.
Encoder and feedback for position loops
The motor carries an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder. Single-turn means it resolves one mechanical revolution — enough for applications that home on power-up or use a secondary multi-turn battery backup. The Hiperface protocol carries both position and temperature data on the same pair, reducing cable count compared to separate encoder and thermistor lines. The back EMF constant is 115 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C), and the torque constant is 1.63 Nm/A at 248 °F (120 °C) copper temperature. These two numbers let you estimate the drive bus voltage needed for a given top speed and the current required for a given torque.
Sealing and mechanical interface
IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing — conforming to IEC 60034-5. The rotatable right-angle connector lets the cable exit point be oriented after mounting, which helps in tight cable-tray routing. The motor uses a 100 mm flange (3.9 in) with a 95 mm centring collar and 9 mm mounting holes. The shaft is 19 mm diameter with a 6 mm parallel key and 40 mm shaft length. Maximum radial force at 3000 rpm is 630 N; maximum axial force is 160 N. These limits govern the coupling selection — an overhung load from a belt drive will eat into the radial budget quickly.
Sourcing and lifecycle position
The sizing reference is SH31001M, which means this motor shares its magnetic stack and winding design with the base SH31001 platform. The suffix M11F1200 encodes the encoder type (absolute single-turn Hiperface), the connector orientation, and the brake variant. If you have an existing SH31001M-based machine, this order code is the drop-in replacement with the same frame and electrical interface.
