Torque and speed across the supply line
The SH31002M01A1200: This SH3-frame motor delivers 5.62 Nm nominal torque at 400 V three-phase, with a continuous stall torque of 5.8 Nm across the 115–480 V range. Peak stall torque reaches 18.3 Nm, giving the drive headroom for acceleration transients without tripping the current limit. The nominal speed shifts with the supply: 500 rpm on 115 V single-phase, 1000 rpm on 230 V single-phase, 2000 rpm on 400 V three-phase, and 2400 rpm on 480 V three-phase — so the same motor body covers multiple line voltages by re-parameterising the drive.
Encoder feedback and environmental sealing
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback at standstill and over one electrical revolution — no homing sequence needed on power-up for applications that stay within a single turn. The back-EMF constant is 146 V/krpm at 20 °C, and the torque constant is 2.32 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, so the drive's current loop scales directly from the torque command. The motor carries IP65 on the housing and shaft bushing, with IP67 on the housing alone, per IEC 60034-5 — suitable for washdown zones provided the connector is mated and the gland plate is sealed. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan or forced air required, which keeps the envelope clean and eliminates a failure point. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector or a straight connector, giving the panel builder flexibility to route the power and feedback cables without bending the motor leads past their minimum bend radius. Mounting is to an international standard flange with a 100 mm flange size and a 95 mm centring collar, 3.5 mm centring collar depth, and 9.0 mm mounting holes — fits the standard 100 mm bolt pattern found on most servo gearboxes and linear actuators.
Mechanical limits and bearing life
The smooth shaft (19 mm diameter, 40 mm shaft length, 6 mm keyway width) accepts a keyed coupling or a clamping hub. Maximum radial force at the shaft centre is 990 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 620 N at 4000 rpm — the bearing L10 life follows the inverse cube of the radial load, so an overhung pulley or belt drive must be sized within this envelope to avoid premature bearing failure. Maximum axial force is 160 N, which limits direct-drive thrust loads unless a separate thrust bearing is used.
