Motor ratings across supply voltages
The SH31002M02F1000: This SH3 frame servo delivers 1100 W continuous power, but the speed-torque envelope shifts with the supply. On 400 V three-phase, nominal speed is 2000 rpm with 5.28 Nm; on 480 V three-phase, speed reaches 2400 rpm at the same torque. Single-phase 115 V drops nominal speed to 500 rpm and torque to 5.5 Nm — the motor is usable on single-phase but derated significantly. Peak stall torque is 18.3 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and continuous stall torque holds at 5.8 Nm. The 9.0 A peak current (3 s) matches the maximum continuous Irms of 9.0 A — the drive sizing should account for this current ceiling when accelerating the load.
Encoder and feedback for position loops
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback without a home cycle on power-up — the multiturn count tracks absolute position over multiple shaft revolutions. This is the encoder type expected by Schneider's Lexium servo drives for high-precision motion control. Back EMF constant is 146 V/krpm at 20 °C, and the torque constant is 2.32 Nm/A at 120 °C hot winding. These constants let the drive calculate the motor's electrical model for field-oriented control tuning.
Brake sizing for vertical loads
The integrated holding brake delivers 9 Nm of holding torque — enough to hold a vertical load that the 5.62 Nm motor can lift, with a safety margin. The brake is spring-applied, power-off engaged, so a power loss stops the axis without a separate brake controller.
Mounting interface and sealing
The motor uses an international standard flange with a 100 mm pilot diameter and 3.5 mm centring collar depth. The shaft is 19 mm diameter with a 6 mm keyway, 40 mm shaft length, smooth shaft end — no oil seal groove, so an external shaft seal ring is needed for IP65 at the bushing. IP rating is IP54 at the shaft bushing without the seal ring, IP65 on the motor body and with the shaft bushing seal ring fitted. For washdown environments, specify the seal ring; for dry cabinet mounting, IP54 is sufficient. The straight electrical connector is pre-wired — no field wiring of the motor leads.
