Motor sizing and supply voltage dependency
The SH31002M12A1100 is a 1100 W continuous power servo motor from the SH3 series, designed for three-phase supply. Its nominal speed and torque shift with the input voltage: at 400 V three-phase it delivers 2000 rpm and 5.28 Nm; at 480 V three-phase the speed rises to 2400 rpm with the same 5.28 Nm torque. On single-phase 230 V it runs at 1000 rpm with 5.5 Nm, and on 115 V single-phase at 500 rpm with 5.62 Nm. The peak stall torque is 18.3 Nm across the 115...480 V three-phase range, and continuous stall torque is 5.8 Nm at 2.5 A continuous stall current. The maximum current is 9.0 A, with a 3-second peak output current also rated at 9.0 A.
Encoder feedback and environmental sealing
Feedback comes from an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder — this gives position retention through power cycles without a home sequence, and the Hiperface interface is common across Schneider drives for plug-and-play commissioning. The motor carries IP65 protection on both the housing and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5, making it suitable for washdown or dusty environments. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan or forced air required. The electrical connection uses a straight connector, and the motor flange is an international standard 100 mm size with a 95 mm centring collar and 3.5 mm depth.
Mechanical interface and load limits
The torque constant is 2.32 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 146 V/krpm at 20 °C. Stator resistance is 8.6 Ohm and stator inductance is 24.3 mH — these values matter for drive tuning and current-loop bandwidth.
