1.1 kW continuous, holding brake, absolute feedback
The SH31002M12F1200 is a Schneider Electric SH3-series servo motor delivering 1.1 kW continuous power with a holding brake rated at 9 N.m. The brake holds the load at standstill without power to the motor windings — essential for vertical-axis or gravity-loaded applications where the load must not drift when the drive is disabled. Nominal torque varies by supply: 5.28 N.m at 400 V three-phase and 480 V three-phase, 5.5 N.m at 230 V single-phase, and 5.62 N.m at 115 V single-phase. Nominal speed also shifts with voltage: 2000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, 2400 rpm at 480 V three-phase, 1000 rpm at 230 V single-phase, and 500 rpm at 115 V single-phase. The motor is a 4-pole design with natural convection cooling — no external fan, so the thermal budget depends on the duty cycle and mounting surface.
Absolute multiturn encoder and IP sealing
Feedback comes from an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder — no homing sequence needed on power-up; the drive reads the absolute position immediately. The motor carries IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, and IP67 on the housing, conforming to IEC 60034-5. The rotatable right-angled connector and straight connector give flexibility in cable routing within the cabinet or cable track. Peak stall torque is 18.3 N.m across the 115...480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall torque of 5.8 N.m. Maximum current Irms is 9.0 A, and the 3s peak output current is also 9.0 A. The torque constant is 2.32 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 146 V/krpm at 20 °C. Stator inductance is 24.3 mH and stator resistance is 8.6 Ohm.
Mounting and mechanical interface
Maximum radial force Fr is 990 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 620 N at 4000 rpm. Maximum axial force Fa is 160 N. These limits govern the allowable belt tension or direct coupling load — exceeding them shortens bearing life.
