Torque and speed — voltage-dependent performance
The SH31003M01F1200: The nominal speed and torque both shift with the supply voltage. At 400 V three-phase, the motor delivers 2000 rpm and 7 N.m nominal torque; at 480 V three-phase, it reaches 2400 rpm and 6.76 N.m. The holding brake is rated 9 N.m — that is the torque the brake holds at standstill, not the running torque. Continuous power is 1500 W, with peak stall torque of 28.3 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range. The torque constant is 2.35 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature — this is the hot rating, not a cold-start figure, so the drive sizing should use this value for thermal margin.
Encoder, cooling, and environmental sealing
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder gives position feedback without a home cycle on power-up — the drive knows the rotor angle immediately. This matters for applications where the machine cannot execute a reference run on each start. Cooling is natural convection — no fan, so the motor relies on the mounting surface and ambient airflow for heat rejection. The IP65 rating on the motor body and shaft bushing, plus IP67 on the housing, means it handles washdown environments; the rotatable right-angle connector and straight connector options let the cable exit point be oriented to suit the cable tray path.
Mechanical interface — flange, shaft, and forces
The 100 mm international standard flange (3.9 in) with a 95 mm centring collar and 3.5 mm collar depth mates to standard gearboxes and machine frames. The shaft is 19 mm diameter, 40 mm long, with a 6 mm keyway — smooth shaft end, so the key transmits torque, not a clamping fit. Maximum radial force Fr is 1050 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 660 N at 4000 rpm — the bearing load limit follows the speed. Maximum axial force Fa is 160 N. These set the belt-tension or coupling-load ceiling; exceed them and the bearing life shortens.
