Speed-torque envelope across supply voltages
The SH31004P12A1000: This SH3 motor delivers a nominal speed of 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase supply, with a nominal torque of 7.9 Nm and nominal output power of 2480 W. On 480 V three-phase, nominal speed rises to 3600 rpm, torque drops to 6.9 Nm, and power increases to 2600 W. For single-phase 230 V input, the motor is rated 1500 rpm, 9.5 Nm, 1490 W — a derated envelope that matters if the drive is fed from a single-phase source.
Feedback and electrical interface
The encoder is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface type — this provides single-turn position within one revolution and multiturn counts over 4096 revolutions without a battery backup. The SinCos analog tracks give the drive fine interpolation for velocity ripple below 0.5% at low speed. Electrical connection is via a rotatable right-angled connector or a straight connector — both are field-swappable options on the same motor housing, so the cable exit direction can be adjusted without a motor teardown. The connector mates with the matching Hiperface cable assembly; pinout follows the Schneider SH3 standard. Stator resistance is 1.81 Ω and inductance is 18.35 mH per phase, giving an electrical time constant of ~10 ms. The back EMF constant is 103 V/krpm at 20 °C, and the torque constant is 1.62 Nm/A at 120 °C — these values are needed for the drive autotune routine to converge on the correct current loop gains.
Mechanical integration and sealing
The motor flange size is 100 mm (IEC standard), with a centring collar diameter of 95 mm and depth of 3.5 mm. The shaft diameter is 24 mm with a parallel key of 8 mm width and 50 mm shaft length. Overall motor length is 276.5 mm — this fits within the standard SH3 frame envelope. IP degree of protection is IP65 per IEC 60034-5 when the shaft bushing includes the seal ring; without the seal ring the rating drops to IP54 at the shaft bushing. The motor body itself is IP65 rated. For washdown environments, specify the shaft seal option at order. Maximum radial force Fr is 1070 N at 1000 rpm, 850 N at 2000 rpm, and 740 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force Fa is 160 N. These bearing load limits must be respected when coupling to a leadscrew or belt drive — exceeding them reduces bearing life below the L10h rating.
