Sizing reference and what the 5.5 kW envelope means for the drive
The SH32051P02A2000 is the SH32051P sizing reference in the SH3 series — a three-phase AC servo motor carrying 5.5 kW of continuous power at 400 V. Nominal torque scales inversely with operating voltage across the same winding: 31.9 N·m at 115 V single-phase, 27 N·m at 230 V single-phase, 17.5 N·m at 400 V three-phase, and 13.8 N·m at 480 V three-phase — meaning the same mechanical package delivers higher torque at lower line voltage because the nominal speed drops in proportion (3000 rpm at 400 V vs 3600 rpm at 480 V). The peak stall torque of 110 N·m across the 115–480 V envelope gives roughly 8× overload headroom over the 400 V nominal torque of 17.5 N·m, which is the figure that sizes the drive's current loop and mechanical safety margin in cyclic applications.
Encoder, shaft, and how it drops into the machine
Feedback is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder on a rotatable right-angled connector, so position is retained through power cycles without a battery-backed module — the resolver-free SinCos tracks commutation on every power-up. The shaft is a smooth 38 mm diameter × 80 mm length on an international-standard 205 mm flange with a 180 mm centring collar and 14 mm mounting holes, so it mates with the standard NEMA-style or metric servo coupling stack without an adapter plate. Cooling is natural convection only — no integrated fan — so the 5.5 kW continuous figure assumes an open, unblocked mounting that lets the housing radiate to ambient air; an enclosed cabinet derates the motor below the stated continuous rating. The shaft bushing carries IP65 and the motor body carries IP65 to IEC 60034-5, with IP54 at the shaft bushing when no shaft seal ring is fitted — enough for typical industrial washdown but not for direct high-pressure spray zones.
Stator, rotor, and the load the bearings must take
Stator resistance 0.3 Ohm and inductance 8.7 mH, with a torque constant of 1.75 N·m/A at 120 °C winding temperature, define the drive's current-loop bandwidth — the Irms peak of 87.2 A and continuous stall current of 21 A set the boundary the servo amplifier must deliver. Radial load capacity on the shaft falls with speed: 3730 N at 1000 rpm, 2960 N at 2000 rpm, and 2580 N at 3000 rpm — meaning a belt or pinion drive running near the top of the speed range has roughly 30 % less allowable side load than the same drive at low speed, with a maximum axial load of 740 N on top.
