What this motor is and where it sits
The SH32051P11A2000: It carries a single-turn SinCos Hiperface absolute encoder and a straight or rotatable right-angle connector for feedback and power wiring — typical of mid-frame dynamic servo drives used on packaging, converting and machine-tool axes where position feedback must come back over a single protocol. Cooling is natural convection with no holding brake, so heat is shed through the housing and any external brake torque must be provided by the downstream gearhead or drive-controlled stop.
Multi-voltage rating envelope
Nominal output power tracks the same envelope — 2510 W at 115 V single-phase, 4240 W at 230 V single-phase, 5500 W at 400 V three-phase, 5200 W at 480 V three-phase — and continuous power is stamped at 5500 W, so the three-phase 400 V line is where this frame hits its published ceiling. Nominal torque falls with speed in the expected way — 31.9 N.m at 115 V, 27 N.m at 230 V, 17.5 N.m at 400 V, 13.8 N.m at 480 V — so a buyer matching this frame to a drive at 480 V three-phase is trading speed for constant-power headroom, not raw torque.
Drive-matching constants and current limits
The motor's torque constant is 1.75 N.m/A at 248 °F (120 °C) winding temperature and back-EMF constant is 104 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C) — drive commissioning routines that back-calculate current from commanded torque, or back-calculate DC-bus voltage from commanded speed, plug into these two figures directly. Stator resistance is 0.3 Ohm and stator inductance 8.7 mH; together they set the current-loop bandwidth the drive must achieve to keep torque ripple inaudible at low speed. Maximum RMS current and 3-second peak output current are both stamped at 87.2 A, with peak stall torque rated at 110 N.m and continuous stall torque at 36.9 N.m — the drive's short-term current limit must reach the 87.2 A figure for the published peak torque to be reachable without tripping. Winding hot-spot temperature is rated to 266 °F (130 °C), so thermal foldback in the drive should be commissioned against that ceiling rather than the more common 155 °F class B figure.
Shaft, mounting and shaft loading
The output shaft is 38 mm in diameter, 80 mm long, with a parallel key 10 mm wide — the key way plus the standard flange gives a direct mount for helical-bevel and planetary gearheads that share the SH3 205 mm bolt circle. Mounting holes are 14 mm diameter on the flange, and the centring collar is 180 mm diameter with a 4 mm depth for a positive pilot into the mating gearbox or flange adapter. Maximum radial force is 3730 N at 1000 rpm, 2960 N at 2000 rpm and 2580 N at 3000 rpm — derate against the published curve when a pinion or coupling sits outboard of the shaft shoulder, and keep total axial force below 740 N.
Sealing and where it can be deployed
The motor body is rated IP65 to IEC 60034-5, while the shaft bushing is IP54 without a shaft seal ring — the body is washdown-tolerant, but the bushing lets dust and water along the shaft unless a seal kit is added at the gearhead interface.
