Torque and speed across supply voltages
The SH32052P12F1000: This motor delivers different nominal torque depending on the supply: 61.6 N.m at 115 V single-phase, 56 N.m at 230 V single-phase, 38.1 N.m at 400 V three-phase, and 28.4 N.m at 480 V three-phase. The nominal speed also shifts with voltage — 500 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1000 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 2000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 2400 rpm at 480 V three-phase. Peak stall torque reaches 220 N.m across the 115-480 V three-phase range, which is roughly 3.5x the nominal torque at 480 V — useful for acceleration transients or breaking through static friction. Continuous stall torque is 64.9 N.m across the same three-phase range, so the motor can hold position at full rated torque indefinitely without overheating.
Encoder, brake, and shaft package
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback without needing a homing cycle after power loss — the multiturn count is retained. This matters for applications like gantry axes or rotary tables where absolute position must be known at startup. Shaft dimensions: 38 mm diameter, 80 mm length, with a 10 mm parallel key. The centring collar depth is 4 mm. This is a standard international flange mount (205 mm flange size).
Electrical and thermal limits
Maximum RMS current is 96.8 A, with a 3-second peak rating at the same value — so the drive must be sized to supply this current for transient moves. Stator resistance is 0.3 Ohm and inductance is 2.95 mH, which sets the electrical time constant at roughly 9.8 ms. Torque constant is 2.52 N.m/A at 120°C copper temperature; back EMF constant is 161 V/krpm at 20°C. These values let the drive calculate the motor's voltage demand across the speed range. Continuous power is 7900 W. Cooling is natural convection — no forced air or liquid cooling required, but the motor must be mounted with adequate free air circulation around the housing.
Environmental protection and mechanical loading
IP54 rating at the shaft bushing without shaft seal ring; IP65 rating for the motor body and shaft bushing when the seal ring is fitted, per IEC 60034-5. For washdown or dusty environments, the IP65 configuration is the correct choice. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 4200 N at 1000 rpm, 3330 N at 2000 rpm, and 2910 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 740 N. These limits govern direct-coupled loads — belt drives or overhung pulleys must stay within these radial force curves. Electrical connection options include a rotatable right-angle connector or a straight connector — the installer can orient the cable exit to suit the cabinet layout.
