Three-phase servo motor, 7.9 kW continuous, 220 N.m peak
The SH32052P12F2200 is a three-phase servo motor from the SH3 series, delivering 7.9 kW continuous power and a peak stall torque of 220 N.m across a 115 to 480 V supply range. The nominal torque and speed shift with the supply voltage and phase — at 400 V three-phase it produces 38.1 N.m at 2000 rpm, while at 480 V three-phase it delivers 28.4 N.m at 2400 rpm. This makes the motor adaptable to different line voltages without a transformer, but the torque-speed curve must be matched to the load profile at the actual supply. The motor includes an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder for position feedback, a holding brake rated at 80 N.m, and an IP65-rated motor body with an IP67-rated housing. The rotatable right-angled connector allows the cable exit to be oriented in the field, simplifying installation in tight machine envelopes.
Torque, speed, and thermal constraints
Nominal torque is 61.6 N.m at 115 V single-phase, dropping to 28.4 N.m at 480 V three-phase — the motor is designed to run on single-phase or three-phase supplies, but the usable torque at the lower voltages is significantly higher. Peak stall torque is 220 N.m regardless of supply, giving a 3.5× overload margin over the highest nominal torque for acceleration and high-inertia starts. Cooling is by natural convection — no fan or forced air. The continuous power rating of 7.9 kW assumes free airflow around the motor; derating applies in enclosed or high-ambient installations. The stator resistance is 0.3 Ω and inductance 2.95 mH, which together with the back EMF constant of 161 V/krpm at 20 °C define the drive tuning parameters.
Mounting, shaft, and environmental sealing
The IP65 rating on the motor and shaft bushing, plus IP67 on the housing, means the motor can withstand hose-directed water and dust ingress per IEC 60034-5 — suitable for washdown areas, food processing, and outdoor installations where the connector is properly mated. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 4200 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 2910 N at 3000 rpm; maximum axial force is 740 N. These limits govern the coupling and belt-drive selection.
