Motor frame and physical fit
The SH32053P12A1100: Overall length 19.3 in (489 mm) with a flange size of 8.07 in (205 mm) and centring collar diameter 7.09 in (180 mm) — this is a standard international flange pattern, so it replaces most IEC-frame servo motors in the same power class without reworking the mounting plate. Shaft diameter is 1.5 in (38 mm) with a parallel key, shaft length 3.1 in (80 mm), key width 0.4 in (10 mm). The centring collar depth is 0.2 in (4 mm). No holding brake fitted — if your application needs a holding brake, budget an external one. Mounting holes diameter 0.6 in (14 mm) on the flange. The motor is naturally convection cooled — no forced air or blower needed, but that also means no fan noise and no filter maintenance.
Electrical performance across supply voltages
This is a three-phase servo motor, but the nominal torque and speed change significantly with the supply voltage. At 115 V single phase you get 751.4 lbf.in (84.9 N.m) at 500 rpm; at 480 V three phase it delivers 355.8 lbf.in (40.2 N.m) at 2400 rpm. The continuous power is 10600 W — that's the thermal limit, not the peak. Peak stall torque is 2920.7 lbf.in (330 N.m) across the 115...480 V three-phase range — that's the short-term overload for acceleration or emergency stop. Continuous stall torque is 835.5 lbf.in (94.4 N.m) — the torque the motor can hold indefinitely without overheating. Maximum current Irms is 136.1 A — that's the drive's peak current requirement. The stator resistance is 0.2 Ohm and inductance 2.05 mH, which sets the electrical time constant and influences the servo loop tuning. Torque constant is 2.84 N.m/A at 248 °F (120 °C) copper temperature.
Feedback and environmental sealing
Encoder is absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface — this gives position feedback without a home cycle on power-up, and the multiturn count tracks absolute position over multiple shaft revolutions. Back EMF constant is 172 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C), which matters for the drive's voltage bus margin at high speed. IP65 rating on both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5 — the motor withstands hose-directed water and dust ingress. Suitable for washdown environments in food processing or packaging lines where the motor is mounted directly on the machine frame.
