Motor ratings that set the torque envelope
The SH32053P12F2200 is a three-phase servo motor from the SH3 series, delivering 10.6 kW continuous power with a continuous stall torque of 94.4 N·m across the 115–480 V three-phase range. That 94.4 N·m is what the motor holds indefinitely at standstill without overheating — the real-world duty-cycle limit for positioning or clamping applications. Peak stall torque hits 330 N·m (2920.7 lbf·in) on three-phase supply — this is the short-duration (3-second) burst for acceleration or breaking free of a jam. The holding brake adds 80 N·m of static torque for vertical-axis load retention when power is off. Nominal torque varies with supply voltage: 84.9 N·m at 115 V single-phase, 74.4 N·m at 230 V single-phase, 50.7 N·m at 400 V three-phase, and 40.2 N·m at 480 V three-phase. The torque constant is 2.84 N·m/A measured at 120 °C copper temperature — that's the hot winding condition, so the drive's current loop must account for the resistance shift.
Speed, feedback, and mechanical fit
Nominal speed depends on the supply: 500 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1000 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 2000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 2400 rpm at 480 V three-phase. The back EMF constant is 172 V/krpm at 20 °C — a key number for the drive's velocity-loop tuning and bus-voltage headroom. Feedback comes from an absolute multitouch SinCos Hiperface encoder — no homing sequence needed on power-up; the drive reads the exact rotor position. The motor includes a holding brake (80 N·m) for vertical-axis safety. Shaft is 38 mm diameter with a parallel key, 80 mm shaft length, and 10 mm key width — standard for this flange class. Mounting uses an international standard flange (205 mm pilot diameter, 14 mm mounting holes, 4 mm centring collar depth). The electrical connection is a rotatable right-angled connector — useful when cable exit direction needs to clear adjacent hardware in a tight cabinet.
Environmental sealing and thermal limits
IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing — both per IEC 60034-5. Cooling is natural convection — no fan, so the mounting surface and ambient airflow must carry the heat. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 4500 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 3120 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 740 N. These limits govern belt-drive or direct-coupling designs — exceed them and bearing life drops fast.
The motor is supplied as a single unit (1 per package). The sizing reference code is SH32053P — useful when ordering matched drive-motor packages from the same series.
