Fieldbus interface for motion control
TM5NS31 is the Sercos III gateway for a Modicon TM5 distributed I/O island — two RJ45 connectors running 100 Mbit/s, one green STAT LED and two green Sercos port LEDs for quick link status at the cabinet door. 1.75 W dissipation keeps the backplane cool; IP20 means it stays inside a clean enclosure. Depth 75 mm, width 37.5 mm: one standard TM5 module slot.

Production status is Active. No end-of-life notice on this code — order it as a planned spare or for a new line without worrying about a last-time-buy window. If you hold a TM5 island running Sercos III, one of these in the cabinet is cheap insurance before the next scheduled outage.
Sits on the TM5 bus base in a standard slot. Pollution degree 2 environment — normal control room dust only. No forced cooling required at the 1.75 W dissipation level. Verify the backplane power budget if populating a full rack, but this module draws negligibly compared to I/O slices.
