The VW3A7253 is a Schneider Electric active infeed converter (AIC) rated 240 kW at 400 V, part of the Altivar process drive ecosystem. It handles 366 A continuous output current at 400 V, with a peak overload capability of 1.20× nominal for 60 s and 1.35× nominal for 2 s. Built as a built-in unit (IP00), it requires forced convection cooling moving 800 m³/h for the power circuit and 200 m³/h for the control circuit. The enclosure dimensions are 950 mm high × 430 mm wide × 377 mm deep — plan the cabinet volume and airflow path accordingly.

Rated input power of 242 kW at 400 V and line current of 348 A at 400 V set the upstream breaker and cable sizing. The supply voltage range is 380-440 V AC ±10 %, three-phase, 50/60 Hz. Output voltage reaches 650 V DC on a 380-400 V AC supply, or 720 V DC on a 440 V AC supply — this DC bus feeds downstream drives. The converter is designed for low-harmonic and energy-regeneration applications, compliant with EN/IEC 61800-5-1 (adjustable speed drive safety standard).
