Overview
The VW3A7705 is a Schneider Altivar braking resistor rated at 10 Ohm and 1000 W, housed in an IP20 enclosure with M6 bar wire drive terminals accepting up to 2.5 mm² / AWG 14. Thermal protection is handled by the drive or an external 120 °C temperature control switch. It is compatible with Altivar 312, Altivar 61, Lexium 32, and Lexium 52 drives, and is currently in active production.

Choose the VW3A7705 when the drive requires a lower resistance value for higher braking torque; the VW3A7704 suits applications needing a higher resistance to limit peak current. Compared to the VW3A7707 (5 Ohm, 1300 W), the VW3A7705 provides a higher resistance and lower power rating. The VW3A7707 is for drives demanding a very low resistance and higher power dissipation.
