The VW3A7712 is a braking resistor from the Schneider Altivar range, rated 2.1 Ohm and 44 kW at 50 °C. IP23 enclosure means it's ventilated for free-air cooling but not sealed against water ingress — install in a dry, ventilated cabinet or outdoor under a roof overhang. Thermal protection is handled externally via a thermal overload relay (not integrated into the resistor pack).

This part is obsolete. No successor order code is recorded. Sourcing is via independent distribution against an RFQ. The 1040 mm width × 1150 mm height × 620 mm depth footprint makes a drop-in substitute unlikely without panel rework.

The 2.1 Ohm value sets the braking torque curve for a given DC bus voltage — lower ohms = higher peak current and more aggressive deceleration.
