The Schneider VW3A7805 is a braking resistor for Altivar drives, rated at 8.1 Ohm with 44 kW average power dissipation at 50 °C. That 44 kW figure is the continuous braking capacity it can sink when the drive decelerates a heavy load—think conveyors, centrifuges, or large fans that need to stop fast without dumping energy back into the DC bus. The 8.1 Ohm resistance sets the peak current the resistor will draw during braking; pair it with a drive whose braking chopper is rated for that resistance value or lower.
