The VW3A7807 is a braking resistor for the Altivar 71 drive range, rated 3.5 Ohm and 19.5 kW at 50 °C. It dissipates regenerative energy from decelerating motor loads — essential for applications with fast stops, vertical loads, or high-inertia conveyors where the drive's internal DC bus cannot absorb the energy alone.
Mounting dimensions are 540 mm deep by 890 mm wide by 440 mm tall. Electrical connection is via M10 bar wire terminals, sized for the 19.5 kW dissipation. Thermal protection is handled externally through a thermal overload relay wired in series with the resistor circuit.
