The VW3A9903 is a ready-assembled IP54 base plate designed for Schneider Electric ATV61 and ATV71 variable speed drives. Its job is to increase the number of cable connections the drive enclosure can accept — essentially a factory-built gland plate upgrade for installations that need more motor, control, or network cable entries than the standard drive base provides.
Cable entry layout
The plate ships with a mixed set of cable glands: one metal ISO25 gland for the motor cable, one plastic ISO12 and one plastic ISO20 for control cable or options, one special plastic ISO32 for the network cable, three plastic ISO32 glands for control cable or options, and four plastic ISO16 glands for control cable or options. That gives you a total of ten gland positions, covering the common cable diameters you'd run on a drive of this class.
This part is officially obsolete per the manufacturer's lifecycle record. There is no listed direct successor. For a BOM that still calls out VW3A9903 — and many installed ATV61/ATV71 cabinets do — the supply channel is independent distribution. If you are planning a new build, the ATV61 and ATV71 platforms themselves are also end-of-life, so the whole drive ecosystem is worth reviewing.
