Sensor at a glance
The GTB10-N4212 is a SICK G10 photoelectric proximity sensor rated for 950 mm maximum sensing distance with a visible red PinPoint LED. Its 500 µs response time suits high-speed part detection on conveyor lines or packaging machinery where the target passes the beam in under a millisecond. The NPN output (100 mA max load) and Light/Dark ON switching give the integrator flexibility to match existing PLC input cards — NPN sinking is common in older DC control schemes or when the sensor shares a common with the load.
The 20 mm wide × 50 mm tall rectangular housing mounts directly to standard brackets or machine frames. The M12 4-pin connector (male, A-coded) mates to a standard M12 cordset — no pigtail splicing, no terminal strip inside the sensor. Strip the cordset end and land the wires in the panel. Operating range is 10–30 VDC, so it runs on a common 24 VDC supply without a dedicated regulator. The -30 °C to +60 °C temperature span covers most factory-floor environments short of a freezer tunnel.
