It provides visible isolation for a circuit but carries no overload or short-circuit protection — that's handled upstream by a separate breaker or fuse. The integrated undervoltage release (120-127 V AC, 50/60 Hz) drops the switch open if control voltage is lost, which is useful for emergency-stop chains or undervoltage protection schemes. Four auxiliary changeover contacts report the switch position back to a PLC or status lamp.
This is a panel-mount disconnect, not a DIN-rail breaker. The nut keeper kit on both sides of the main current circuit means you bolt the busbars or cable lugs directly to the front terminals — no spring-cage or screw-clamp terminals for the power path. The frame 400 footprint is standard for the 3VA1 family, so if you're replacing a failed disconnect in an existing SENTRON panel, the mounting hole pattern and busbar spacing should match. The auxiliary switch block and undervoltage release are factory-integrated; no field wiring of separate accessories needed.
